What is the difference between LVL veneer laminate and plywood?
The main differences are as follows:
1. Name, LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber); Plywood
2. Uses, LVL veneer laminates are mainly used in construction and wood structures; Plywood plywood is mainly used in decoration, furniture and packaging. Of course, some factories produce LVL (such as poplar) with particularly poor strength, which can also be used in furniture, decoration and packaging.
3. Structure, LVL veneer laminate and Plywood are made of wood veneer by hot pressing and gluing, but the arrangement direction of veneer is different. All LVL veneers are arranged in the same direction, along the grain, and the wood fiber directions of the adjacent layers are parallel; Plywood is arranged in a vertical and horizontal cross, and the wood fiber directions of the adjacent layers are vertical.
4. Appearance: 1. The structure is different from the side, please refer to 3. Two: Plywood surface is generally thin wood veneer such as Okoume, Bintangor or Red Oak, Ash, which is very beautiful and emphasizes decorativeness; LVL veneer laminate is used as a building or structural material, emphasizing strength and deflection.
5. Materials, LVL veneer laminates are mainly pine + PF phenolic glue (waterproof, formaldehyde release E0), while Plywood is generally poplar / eucalyptus + MR urea-formaldehyde glue (general moisture proof, formaldehyde release E2, E1 , Less E0).
